Many of the “standard” Civ 4 elements are still in play: The Realism Invictus mod (RI for now on) changes gameplay enough from Civ 4 to warrant an explanation for Civ 4 veterans and Civ 4 itself is far enough from Civ 5 that those players really need an explanation. I’ll have enough explanation for you to follow along hopefully. Since I have today off, I’ve decided to post the story of my latest game (first Monarch difficulty game). It has insane depth, a tough but fair set of rules, and when it comes down to it feels like “gamey” than either Civ 4 or 5 base. Realism Invictus is a mod for Civ 4 that has become the only Civ I have any interest in playing.
